What new video games are expected in Esport for 2019?

Even though the world of Esport is largely dominated by the trilogy League of Legends, Dota2 and Counter-Strike in terms of audience, this does not prevent other titles to make their own way. It’s about the latter that we are going to talk today. What are the emerging games in Esport in 2019?

The first was released just a month ago, it's the free to play Apex Legend! It's a new Battle Royal from Electronic Arts. This game is already a reference and has a strong potential in competition Esport.

The game presents itself as the new evolution of the royal battle, this system featuring a large number of players in a team or alone on a map whose size is gradually reduced by its ends. PUBG and Fortnite, which we have discussed in previous articles, are for the moment the two leaders in this category. Its particularity is to blend the concept of characters with the unique abilities usually found in other game modes (e.g. Leagues of Legends, Overwatch ...) with a royal battle game.

There are currently no team or professional players practicing on this game yet. But, given the unprecedented climbing reputation of Apex Legends, everything seems to indicate that it is for very soon!

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate released during the last December on the Switch (Nintendo game console) has also experienced an unprecedented rise. The well-known Nintendo license with an all-new gameplay has quickly attracted many streamers, so feel free to visit Twitch!

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a multiplayer game of combat on platforms, it’s currently proposing 77 different characters. The main game modes bring together two teams of 3 or 5 players to compete. The team which manages to expel all the players of the opposing team from the platform wins.
This game has everything it takes to be one of the must-have Esport games of 2019, a renowned license, a large community of its creation and numerous streamers.

Some tournaments are already organized and will certainly be available on Twitch or YouTube.
Here is the link of the schedule:

Diabotical is a game planned for the end of 2019, although it’s a little early to talk about it, this game is highly anticipated and promises an immense potential in Esports. Initially announced in 2016, Diabotical has not stopped making people talk about it, the Beta should appear in the next two months. The game is a dynamic FPS (see post of Feb. 15th) that will propose confrontations between two teams or in each for oneself.

Its developers, ''The GD Studio'' have clearly expressed their desire to create a game entirely dedicated to Esport. The game was funded by a crowdfunding bringing to date more than 168 thousand pounds when the initial goal was only of 110,000 pounds.

Keep up to date, the release is coming soon and the Esport will certainly devote to it!

Card games are very popular since the release of Hearthstone in 2014. One of them is Artifact, launched last November the game is much more complex and radically different from its competitors. Despite the bad buzz due to its economic model and some balancing problems, the new game of the famous Valve studio (Dota2, Counter Strike, Team Fortress ...) did not say its last word.

Its complexity makes it a hard game to access and understand and which is clearly not addressed to all audiences, but nevertheless suggests a good progression of the game and its notoriety. The game really differs from its competitors and the giant Valve promises to secure its back in the future of the game Esport. The Esport activity is already launched with the first Artifact Tournament announced for 2019. The proposed cash prize is £ 1,000,000, which is more than double than what is offered by competitors’ games.
